This program is going to be challenging and being a developer is not easy. Our program requires motivation, determination, hard work and resilience. You’re goal-oriented and have a solid idea of what you want to accomplish.
We’re not just looking for talent but also personality. We want everyone in this program to bring great energy. Are strongly involved in your community and capable of transferring your knowledge to other at the end of the program?
To be considered for Entoto Summer fully funded Fellowship, applicant must:
Demonstrate willingness and ability to undertake full time intensive study for 3 months (June 1st – August 31st, 2019) and to fully engage in the program and be attend all scheduled programs.
Demonstrate interest in pursuing a rewarding career in tech.
Possess strong communication and personal skills.
Have strong academic standings and history.
Continually engage with the tech community.
Have the ability to transfer the knowledge and skill acquired from the program to their community demonstrated through leadership and community engagements.
Be above the age of 18.
This program is designed to challenge you and introduce you to the world’s most demanded technologies in web and application development. You will spend a number of hours working on projects and be engaged in self learning. The program will run every weekday from 9am - 5pm with scheduled programs and participants are expected to use the weekends and spare time to work on projects and assignments.
There will be 2-3 hours of lecture every day that introduce participants to online computer science resources to help them develop personal self-learning styles.
Assignments and projects
At least twice a week there will be small assignments and projects to test your knowledge and skills, and encourage participants to learn more on their own.
Short workshops on different software development tools, trending technology concepts and supplementary personal development programs such as entrepreneurship, marketing and business plan development.
In the second half of the program, participants work in groups with a local sponsor and an Entoto mentor to address a question facing the sponsor’s organization using the skills they acquired from the program.
